What size of tarred bank line.
by Jason Moe · Sat Jan 26, 2013 20:48 PM

Hello, I was just wondering what size (#12,#18,#36 etc.) of tarred bank line you prefer. Maybe also what's the primary thing you use it for maybe. Thank you. Jason

I'm partial to #36. Its great for pretty much anything, especially used for lashing wood together. The coating really helps hold it together.

I have all three sizes that you mention, and I would say #36. I didn't know what to expect exactly so I ordered all three. The other two are really fine twine. The #36 makes a great strong bush cord that you don't have to feel bad about abandoning if you need, unlike a good paracord.

I like 36. I've used it for everything.  Heck you can't beet the price. I got a 1lb. roll for under 20 buck. Got pulled over once because the cop thought I had nothing tied down when I was helping a buddy get his new mattress. We had it tied down on the roof of his car with #36 bank line.
